WHAT IS QIGONG SENSORY THERAPY?
Qigong Sensory Therapy (QST) is a research-supported, touch-based program in which parents provide a brief daily massage to their child to support sensory processing, regulation, communication, and social-emotional development.
Daily Practice
Create a calming daily routine through a brief practice of attuned touch shared between caregiver and child
Parent Guided
Learn the program step-by-step with professional support, while adapting the massage to your child’s individual responses and needs.
Regulation
Support your child’s developing nervous system by increasing sensory comfort and reducing physiological stress, helping them engage more comfortably in daily life.
RESEARCH AND OUTCOMES
Qigong Sensory Therapy has been studied in multiple research trials examining its impact on sensory processing, regulation, communication, and family well-being. WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?
Small Daily Practice Meaningful Change
Qigong Sensory Therapy works through consistency and repetition over time.
Families are asked to:
-
Participate in guided learning sessions while becoming comfortable with the massage and their child's unique cues
-
Provide the massage daily (approximately 20 minutes)
-
Gradually integrate the practice into a daily family routines over time
Most families receive professional support over approximately 5–6 months while learning the program and adapting it to their child’s individual needs. Although children with sensory processing concerns without ASD may progress faster.
As the routine becomes familiar and enjoyable, many families find it becomes a valued and calming part of daily life.
HOW DOES CHANGE HAPPEN OVER TIME?
Early Changes
Continued Growth
